It’s unusual for me to sit down on a Friday afternoon the write the Feel Good Friday blog post for the week. I typically hash this baby out first thing in the morning and close my computer for the weekend!
Today, however, was a bit different as I attended the Chamber Quarterly Coffee at the Surf Ballroom Lounge. This event is held quarterly (obviously), is free of charge, and open to the public to attend. Coffee and some sort of breakfast type treat are provided as an update on life around town is given.
If you’ve never been to this event before, I highly recommend it. In fact, mark your calendar for December 17th from 7:30 to 9:00 and stop on by next time! I guarantee you’ll leave with a spring in your step and a heart bursting with pride for this town.
Every. Single. Time.
Not only is it a great place to network, but you’ll find an enhanced urge to go out into the community and be the best you can be. It’s like a personal hype session, but for the whole town.
In other news this week, we challenged you to celebrate Small Business Week around town. Not only eating at restaurants and shopping at retail stores but choosing local companies for your service needs (think insurance, plumbing, etc.). You can read all about it in this fabulously written blog post.
It seems like a good weekend to give yourself a break from the kitchen, maybe go out for a nice meal, or order something simple for take-out. Here’s the blog I posted earlier this week with links to all the Chamber Members who so fantastically provide our food and drink. I think we can all agree we would be lost without them, right? I mean, sometimes you just need a moment of respite from the endless cycle: make food, eat food, clean up food. REPEAT.
Leave the hassle to the professionals this weekend!
Alas, as we close out another fabulous fall week at the Lake, I’m bursting with excitement. In just two short weeks, the downtown streets will be flooded with patrons. Shopping, enjoying live music, tasting all the delicious wines. It’s hard to believe Harvest Festival is on the horizon – my favorite event of the year!
There are still Souvenir Bags available for purchase. You can stop in to the Chamber office to purchase, or simply click this link – https://www.eventbrite.com/e/clear-lake-harvest-festival-tickets-163648746807?aff=ebdssbcitybrowse – to purchase online.
And if you want to get the day started on the right foot, be sure to sign up for the Champagne 5K. You can run, you can walk, you can skip the whole thing if you want. Who wouldn’t want to cross a finish line full of tiny bubbles and then drink champagne as your reward?!?!
I don’t even remotely like to run, and I signed up! Be my running (and I use that word VERY loosely) buddy and sign up today!
Have a fantastic weekend enjoying the beautiful weather, my friends.
