As I sit here in my office, attempting to shake the foggy pile of cobwebs from my tired brain after our family getaway to St. Louis over Spring Break, it dawned on me how quickly the season of Spring is barreling upon us. When we left, the ground was covered in snow. Piles of it, actually. And now, I can see grass (albeit, brown and dead from the harsh winter) for days!
The change of season makes my mind literally race. It’s time to clean the garage, pick up the piles of dog poo that had been hidden under the snow, plan for my spring flowers, and think about SUMMER!
I know, I know. I don’t want to skip over spring either, but I can’t help thinking about all the fun times in Clear Lake on the horizon. Earth Day, TRI Clear Lake, Thursdays on Main, our 4th of July Extravaganza, and the Bicycle-Blues & BBQ event just to name a few. Clear Lake really knows how to provide a summer jam-packed with fun activities for everyone!

TRI Clear Lake is planning for a banner year. With the addition of the Olympic distance race, we’re expecting a record number of athletes to descend upon our beautiful town for the culmination of all their training and hard work. In Clear Lake, we know how to have a good time, and Thursdays on Main is the epitome of just that. Live music, food trucks galore, vendors lining the street, and a movie in the park are just a few of the fun things planned for this year. The fun kicks off May 21st and runs until August 20th. As always, once summer is in full swing, we’ll blink, and it will be the 4th of July Extravaganza. We’re still ironing out the details but look for some fun announcements coming up on the blog about the incredible bands booked in the park, what days to expect all the carnival fun, and of course, parade information!
If you’ve never watched bicycles whizz through the streets of Clear Lake at incredible speeds, this is the year you MUST catch some of the Bicycle, Blues & BBQ festival. A weekend of bike races, delicious foods galore, live music in the park and the Brews on the Beach event on Saturday, you can’t go wrong at this incredibly unique event!
