There are not many things better in life than sitting down at my computer to type out the “Feel Good Friday” blog post for the week.

First, because it’s Friday.

Yay.

And second of all, because there’s always something to write about that puts a great big smile on my face. Today, that reason is because THE LADY IS HOME!!!

That’s right, folks. A true sign of summer on the horizon is when the Lady of the Lake makes it back to her summer location at the seawall. I had to drive by and see it with my own eyes to really believe it. And there it was, the majestic boat, floating atop the gentle waves.

Gave me goosebumps.

This year, she got a new paddle wheel and is ready to start the cruising season!! Be sure to follow The Lady of the Lake on Facebook for up-to-date information about cruising, dockside night, and other special events!

In other fun news, if you have not stopped into the Visitor Center / Chamber office recently, you must do so at once. The very, very, (and I mean very) outdated space received a much-needed refresh in the past few weeks. New paint on the walls, better organization options for brochures and merchandise, and some fun, spiffy upgrades to the front desk and such.

It. Looks. Amazing.

Just like everything in life, time can be a bit harsh, and the wear and tear of a high-traffic office was to the point something needed to be done.

Now, we totally look like an organized, super-cool Midwest Destination spot. I mean, people will likely flock to the Lake this summer just to see it!

Okay, that might be a bit of a stretch, but I do recommend popping to check it out and say HI to the staff! Maybe while you’re there you could purchase a Christmas ornament? Or, I hear they have that awesome local author’s children’s books on hand. I think her name is Rachel Smith?

Also, she is me.

Thanks again for another fantastic week at the Lake. I hope you have a great weekend, and we’ll see you on the flip side!
