It seems to be the fad these days.  The cool thing to do.

Running.

And not just the actual act of running, but participating in the various races throughout the country-side.  There’s the 5K, the 10K, half and full marathons.  I mean, we even have our very own Sprint and Olympic Triathlon right here in Clear Lake.

Side note on thatRegister by 9/30 using Promo Code IMDM2020 and get $10 off!  Yay!

OR… there’s the Champagne 5K on 10/5 before Harvest Fest.

So many opportunities to run your little heart out!

Me?  I’m more of a brisk walker.  I mean, if there was some sort of woodland creature chasing me… I would run.  However, it may be the one and only time you’ll see that happen.

Lake Time Brewery has found a unique way to gather the runners and the walkers together.  Heck, even the stumblers!  What better way to celebrate our local Clear Lake establishments with minimal exercise and maximum fun than the 1st Annual Run, Walk, or Stumble .5K.

Yes, you read that correctly… POINT 5K.

Race directors have thought long and hard about the optimum route best suited for these elite athletes.  Thus, the race begins at Lake Time Brewery on the corner of Main & 8th Street and will go to the Sea Wall.

Check in begins at noon at the Brewery, and those who have preregistered HERE can grab their punch card and get started.  But do not fret – there will be plenty of time to sign up the day of the event.

In order to prevent injury and ensure each participant maintains the optimum hydration level, there are 4 beverage breaks along the scenic route.  Stop in to the VFW, Tap’d, Rookies and Sunset Sharky’s and get a punch on your card.  Each card must have a punch from each establishment to be eligible for prizes.

When you’re finished, turn your punch card in at the Brewery by 6pm to be registered for amazing prizes!  Now, this is a timed event, and prizes will be awarded for the slowest participants.  Sip on your favorite Lake Time Brew while enjoying the fabulous Nacho Bar (available for purchase) from 3-8pm.

This event lines up perfectly in the National Days calendar, as Saturday just happens to be National Drink Beer Day.  I feel it is our civic duty as Clear Lakers to enjoy a few cold ones as we take in all the majestic beauty of our downtown on this fabulous run.

Incidentally, Sunday is National Drink Coffee Day.  For those of you who need it.

Lace up those running shoes, folks.  And I’ll see ya at the Lake!
