Free water ski show scheduled for Sunday, July 5, during Clear Lake’s July 4th Celebration
Fireworks aren’t the only thing flying over the lake over July 4th weekend! The Waterhawks Ski Team will bring jumps, pyramids, tricks, and high-speed action to City Beach in Clear Lake, Iowa, with a free public performance at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 5. About the Waterhawks Ski Team
The Waterhawks Ski Team was founded in 1958 by a group of water skiing enthusiasts dedicated to promoting ski safety, boating, and family fun. What began with just 16 charter members has grown into an amateur sports organization with more than 100 members competing in regional and national competitions. Over the years, the Waterhawks have become one of the Midwest’s premier show ski teams. Their highest national finish came in 2013 when they placed sixth at the National Show Ski Tournament. The team originally performed on the Cedar River before purchasing Eagle Lake in Evansdale, Iowa in 1993, creating a permanent home for practices, performances, and training. Today, the Waterhawks are known for excellence in both show skiing and three-event skiing and have produced multiple regional and national award winners.
