Another amazing week in Clear Lake!

I really don’t want to jinx it, but have we not had THE most amazing weather lately? My goodness. It’s been the epitome of summer perfection around here. Of course, with great weather comes all the other goodness about being at the Lake. It seems we shifted into second gear of all the summer fun this week.
It started when the Clear Lake Aquatic Center opened for the season. Hallelujah! My kiddos and I were in line and ready to splish-splash the day away precisely at 1pm on Monday. We are very thankful they found and fixed the leak. We sure do love our pool!
There are certain things in life you sort of just assume you’ll never be involved in, ya know? One of those things, for me, is the movie business. Experiencing the bright lights of Hollywood is just a fantasy. That is, until Renovo Media Group came to town.
This week, Two Harbors Productions and TeamWriteWay transformed portions of our Main Ave into the set for their upcoming buddy comedy short film: Happy Endings Funeral Parlor.
I mean, seriously, how cool is that?!?!
And in what could be the best news of all time this week… the City of Clear Lake vehicle drove by my house to spray for mosquitoes.
Oh, happy day!
Thursday night we sailed into another fabulous weekend at the Lake with Thursdays on Main. Oh, what a night! The crowd was INCREDIBLE. It was a perfect evening to stroll down Main Ave and peruse the amazing vendors, enjoy the activities, and check out the incredible performance by Ballet Des Moines. And, as usual, the Bear Creek Band did not disappoint!
Of course, the biggest dilemma of the entire evening is wondering which incredible food truck to visit for supper. Did y’all see them lined up by the park?!?! I mean, how is one supposed to choose from all that deliciousness? I guess I’ll just have to make myself a schedule, so I hit them all at some point this summer.
But don’t get too excited for a weekend of rest, friends.

Boredom is not an option at the Lake. Seriously, there are so many things to do I’m not sure how to fit it all in, so I don’t miss anything. And I didn’t even include all the lake activities like fishing, boating, or having a beach day.
Whatever your plans are to have all the summer fun this weekend, make sure you take a bit of time to recharge your batteries. Next week is going to be another fun-filled week at the lake!
