On your mark, Get set, VACATION!!

It won’t be long before we are, once again, frolicking on the sandy beaches, soaking up that warm, summer sun. Listening to the gentle waves as they meet the shore, almost as if they’re saying, “Hello, friend.”
It’s hard to believe the time of year has come around to plan your summer retreat to beautiful Clear Lake, Iowa. Now is the perfect time to finalize your plans to secure lodging and other rentals for your upcoming vacation!
First up, you need to get everyone in your family on board for a trip to the Lake this summer. That should be the easy part, really. Simply show them this incredible video and they’ll be asking “when is vacation?” until it’s time to go!

Now that you’ve decided on lodging, it’s time to get to the fun part… planning what to do while you’re here!
Boredom is not an option while you’re at the Lake. In fact, I suggest you plan your days wisely to fit in all the fun. Spend a day on the water, enjoy an afternoon of shopping, check out a movie on North Iowa’s largest screen, take a ride on the Lady of the Lake, stroll through Central Gardens, or visit the historic Surf Ballroom.
That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the things one could do in Clear Lake.

Clear Lake is practically famous for its many signature events. Be sure to head to Main Ave on Thursday evening to check out Thursdays on Main. It’s a family-friendly night of live music, shopping, kid activities and more! And it happens every Thursday all summer long! Except around the 4th of July, of course, when our downtown is transformed into an extraordinary carnival for a week!

Lastly, yet most importantly, you’re going to need to eat while you’re here, right? And I’m not sure if you are aware of this, but I’ve done a lot of research over the years and it’s a proven fact calories do not count while on vacation.
