As I sit at my computer this morning, a steaming cup of coffee to my right and pages of scribbled notes and reminders to my left, I’m almost at a loss for words.

Almost.

It seems there’s never an actual shortage of words when it comes to writing a piece for the Clear Lake Blog.  Especially after the whirlwind 4th of July Extravaganza.  My arteries are slowly beginning to unclog after eating all the things at the carnival.  Cheese balls, corn dog, funnel cake, walking taco.  You name it – we ate it.

My pants my be tight, but my taste-buds are sure happy!

My equilibrium, however, might take a few more days to get back to normal.  I think someone flipped the ‘turbo’ button on the rides this year, because they seemed to be wilder and faster than normal.  Or maybe that’s just what happens each year you get older?!?!

Regardless, it was a sensational celebration, one that will go down in the history books of pure awesomeness.  Maybe it was the lack of celebration last year.  Maybe it was the perfect weather.

Maybe it was just Clear Lake.

We sure do it up big, am I right?

I took the day yesterday to get my wits about me.  Doing things like tackling the gigantic pile of laundry and attempting to get my life in order.  I even sat down for awhile and binged a bit of television.

But that’s it, folks.

That is all the resting time there is, because today it’s back to writing all the words about the upcoming fun happening around town.  Seems hard to believe, but tomorrow is Thursday again already, which means a night of live music, delicious food, awesome vendors, and lots of fun downtown Clear Lake for Thursdays on Main.

The event kicks off another busy weekend at the Lake, one filled with Fresh on Friday’s, Farmer’s Market, Yoga by the Lake, a Mini Art Market at Clear Lake Arts Center, the rock band Night Ranger at the Surf Ballroom, and the return of the popular craft beer tasting, Brews on the Beach.

If you’re a lover of the barley and hops, you’ll want to snag one of the few general admission tickets left for this fantastic event in the park, which you can do so HERE.  Twenty brewers will come from far and wide, offering samples of their best concoctions. Funds raised for the event will go to the Clear Lake Rotary, and other charitable organizations around the community.

See what I mean?  No rest for you!  Go forth and have more fun!

It may seem like we’re a bit crazy around here, but I assure you, it’s just the magic of Clear Lake.  The fun never stops, never slows down, and sometimes I think it never even sleeps.  We are in a constant state of go-go-go, hopping from one awesome event to the next.

There’s no time to sit back and relax.  There’s no time for boredom.

This is summer in Clear Lake.  Where the days are filled with boat rides and jet skis and soaking up the sun at City Beach.  Where an ice cream treat is acceptable for lunch and happy hour can start whenever you want.

Where sunsets are better than anything you could find on television, and nights under the stars are spent around the fire, roasting marshmallows.

Where wonder and beauty are all rolled into one incredible town!
