Monday: Clear Lake City Council Candidate Forum
Kicking off the week is an opportunity to engage with the local political scene. The Clear Lake City Council Candidate Forum promises to be an insightful event, offering a platform for community members to voice their concerns and learn about the candidates’ visions for the city. Bring your friends and neighbors!
Here’s a quick breakdown of the hourlong event:
– A short welcome and overview.
– Two question rounds.
– Round One: Five questions that will help voters understand the candidates’ priorities, vision, and capabilities. Each candidate will have 1½ minutes per answer.
– Round Two: Four audience questions, drawn from submitted index cards. Again, 1½ minutes per answer.
– A two-minute closing statement from each candidate.
Audience ground rules:
– Applause at the end only.
– No interruptions.
– Questions should be forward-looking and clear.
– Let’s showcase respectful local democracy.
