Clear Lake Earth Day Nature at Play Photography Show
The public is invited to stop by the Clear Lake Arts Center during their regular business hours during the month of April to enjoy the work of our talented local photographers.  This is a juried show with prizes given to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorary Mention winners. Free admission.

Cards & Creativity
Cards & Creativity meets every Thursday that the library is open at 1:00 p.m. This is a weekly opportunity to meet up with others to play games or engage in your creative outlet of choice. You can work on fiber art, writing, music, drawing, or anything else that inspires you! We’ll provide light refreshments as well as coloring supplies and games for you to use! Free!

Big Mysteries in Astronomy
Join Brent Studer to learn about astronomy’s greatest mysteries. These mysteries, or questions, are subjects that often appear in the news and capture the public’s interest, but aren’t usually well-explained. Astronomers continue to work on some big mysteries and the latest generation of space telescopes are providing new insights as well as uncovering some surprises. Brent Studer graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1981 and studied Physics & Astronomy at the University of Iowa. He’s taught Introduction to Astronomy for Kirkwood Community College for over 30 years and has given dozens of public presentations at the Cedar Rapids area astronomy club public nights as well as for the Iowa City Public Library and other local organizations and libraries. Free!

Josh Henderson’s One More Night

On Golden Pond
On Golden Pond is a 1979 play by Ernest Thompson. The plot focuses on aging couple Ethel and Norman Thayer, who spend each summer at their home on a lake called Golden Pond. During the year the story takes place, they are visited by daughter Chelsea with her fiancé Billy Ray and his son Billy Ray Jr. The play explores the often turbulent relationship the young woman shared with her father growing up, and the difficulties faced by a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage.

Stan Harrison Memorial Spring Tune-Up Muskie Tournament
Annual Stan Harrison Memorial Spring Tune-Up Muskie fishing tournament organized by the Heartland Chapter of Muskies, Inc.The entry fees from this event help fund our local youth, fisheries & research activities throughout the year. We’re eagerly planning for another great fundraiser featuring great door prizes & numerous tables of AWESOME, industry best raffle prizes including lures, rods, reels, net, bumpboard & other equipment, guided trips, clothing, a silent auction, 50/50 raffle & much, much more from leading local & national vendors! This year our raffle tables will contain some new items from the Minnesota Muskie Expo that will help your fishing experience be more organized & efficient!
15 muskies were boated during our 2023 event with the longest hitting the bumpboard at 42”! Whether you’re a hardcore or beginner muskie hunter, we’re looking forward to seeing you!

In the Bag Bar Crawl Cornhole Tournament
The “In The Bag” Bar Crawl is for people who love to have FUN and socialize. You can even win prizes in the end. Each team consists of 4 members. Must be 21 years of age or older. Teams will travel around Clear Lake to 10 different establishments to play Bags. Each establishment sets their own rules. Registration cap is set at 75 Teams. Late registration is $80.00 per team. All proceeds will be awarded. Prizes will be awarded for top single score, top scoring 6 Teams, top 3 Team Costumes and 9 random draw participation prizes. Costumes are highly encouraged!
