March Topic: Spring Break, But Make it Strategic
This month, we’re diving into your marketing from a bigger-picture lens, and giving you something tangible to take back to your desk. Here’s what you’ll get: A simple Customer Journey Content Plan framework, An outline of the content you should be creating at each stage of the journey, Ideas for content you may not even be thinking about, Fresh reminders of free ways to promote your business or organization through your Chamber membership, Plus a chance to react to new marketing support concepts before they’re finalized. We’ll start with a quick interactive survey to see where everyone stands, then walk through the customer journey together, mapping out awareness, consideration, decision, and loyalty content in a practical, real-world way. You’ll leave with clarity on what to post, why you’re posting it, and where the gaps might be. Spend your Friday leveling up your marketing instead of guessing your next post.

Book Chat: Circe
Book Chat meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 12:00 pm in the library meeting room. Circe by Madeline Miller: In the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. But Circe is a strange child — not powerful, like her father, nor viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to the world of mortals for companionship, she discovers that she does possess power — the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters and menace the gods themselves. Threatened, Zeus banishes her to a deserted island, where she hones her occult craft, tames wild beasts and crosses paths with many of the most famous figures in all of mythology, including the Minotaur, Daedalus and his doomed son Icarus, the murderous Medea, and, of course, wily Odysseus. But there is danger, too, for a woman who stands alone, and Circe unwittingly draws the wrath of both men and gods, ultimately finding herself pitted against one of the most terrifying and vengeful of the Olympians. To protect what she loves most, Circe must summon all her strength and choose, once and for all, whether she belongs with the gods she is born from, or the mortals she has come to love. With unforgettably vivid characters, mesmerizing language, and page-turning suspense, Circe is a triumph of storytelling, an intoxicating epic of family rivalry, palace intrigue, love and loss, as well as a celebration of indomitable female strength in a man’s world.

More than five million Americans are affected by Alzheimer’s, but that number is expected to triple by 2050. Is there hope on the horizon? This program highlights the growing focus of Alzheimer’s and dementia in public health; what causes memory loss; what the latest research shows in our fight against these conditions; what can be done to decrease one’s risk; what resources exist and what Iowa HHS is doing to help.
