Well, it hasn’t started yet, but it will at some point (hopefully) and then my title will ring true!

So here we are, the first snow day of the school year.  And, as we have yet to get snow, I’m at a loss with what to do with these kiddos (and myself).

I’ve decided today’s Feel Good Friday blog post will include story time, and will be the short and sweet version as the last time I left my hooligans unattended upstairs while I was in my office, there was an incident.

I should be thankful no one was hurt.

Nothing caught on fire.

But still… I simply cannot un-see the aftermath of what happened.  The carnage splayed across the floor as if the most epic battle had taken place and, whoever was fighting said battle – lost.

And so, today, you get the story of what has now been deemed the “toilet fail of 2021.”

It all started when one child used the facilities off the kitchen.  A cute, well-decorated little half-bath with turquoise décor and an adorable rug.  Except something went wrong.  Very wrong.  But the amount of wrongness that occurred was not visible, so they walked away.

Leaving it to be someone else’s problem.

Thus, as the next child used the same facilities, instead of the contents inside the toilet going DOWN, they went UP.

And not just up, but up and over, spilling onto the floor, the adorable rug that was mentioned earlier…

EVERYWHERE.

There was a battle, that much I know is true.  I could tell they tried to fix the problem, likely freaking out the entire time, but to no avail.

So, they gave up, and instead of coming down to my office to let me know there had been a toilet fail, they simply took the decorative hand towel hung quaintly on the wall, placed it delicately over a section of grossness on the floor.

And walked away.

Do we see a pattern here, yet?

HOURS LATER, I come bounding up the stairs, finished with my tasks and ready to relax and enjoy the day.

I did not, however, enjoy the day.  Instead, I spent the rest of the day cleaning, bidding adieu to all the disgusting germs that suddenly seemed to be everywhere inside my house.

So – as I received the call for no school today due to the impending winter weather event, I decided to cut them off at the source and enjoy (read: monitor) all goings on inside the house.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend at the Lake. Don’t forget to SHOP LOCAL as you finalize all those holiday gifts this season.  If you need suggestions, just pop on over to our shop hop video playlist!
