Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and North Iowa Corridor Economic Development Corp. Marketing Specialist Maddie Anderly completed her first year at Institute for Organization Management, a four-year nonprofit leadership training program at Winter Institute in Tucson, Arizona, earlier this year.
“One of the most valuable parts of the experience was building connections with chamber leaders from across Iowa and around the country — sharing ideas, challenges, and solutions that we can bring back to our own communities,” Anderly said. “The sessions covered a wide range of timely topics, all of which were incredibly relevant and immediately applicable to the work we’re doing. Overall, it was an energizing experience that reinforced the importance of collaboration and continuous learning in advancing our region.”
Since its commencement in 1921, the Institute program has been educating tens of thousands of association, chamber, and other nonprofit leaders on how to build stronger organizations, better serve their members and become strong business advocates. Institute’s curriculum consists of four weeklong sessions at four different university locations throughout the country. Through a combination of required courses and electives in areas such as leadership, advocacy, marketing, finance, and membership, Institute participants are able to enhance their own organizational management skills and add new fuel to their organizations, making them run more efficiently and effectively.
Institute for Organization Management is the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s premier nonprofit professional development program for association and chamber professionals.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business organization.
The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce has a strong track record of investing in professional development through the Institute for Organization Management. Two additional team members have completed the full four-year program, and another is currently enrolled, continuing to build knowledge and bring fresh ideas back to support our members and the broader Clear Lake and North Iowa business community.
