Let’s get this party started!

BY: RACHEL WUMKES

When it comes to the 4th of July, everyone has their favorite thing.  For some, it’s the amazing parade down Main Avenue.  Others can’t wait to see the bursts of color explode over the beautiful lake.  Personally, I’m a big fan of the nightly live music.  Each evening brings something unique, spanning from genre to genre.  This year is no different.  The 4th of July music lineup is incredible.

Now, remember way back on April Fools Day when we played that tiny little prank on you guys?  That’s right, we posted the big news that we had secured country music superstar, Garth Brooks, for a July 4th concert in the park.

Best prank ever!

Our phones blew up for hours as the masses liked, commented, and shared our post across social media.  I’m surprised we didn’t break the internet that day, to be honest.

While we were very humbled at the fact you thought we could not only secure an act like Garth but afford it! In fact, it just warmed our little Chamber hearts!!

But alas, Garth is busy with his residency in Las Vegas and won’t be able to make it this year.

Bummer!

Regardless, we’ve got an incredible schedule of live music.  And the best part?  It’s all FREE to the public thanks to the AMAZING community support of our sponsors.

Check it out:

THURSDAY

Sideshow Bob kicks off the festivities on Thursday night thanks to Clear Lake Bank & Trust Company.  They’ll have you up on your feet, dancing the night away as they rock out with all your favorite hits from the 80s, 90s, and beyond!  It’s the perfect chance to get your Independence Day mojo flowing for this incredible six-day party of live music!

FRIDAY

You best be getting your chairs and blankets down to City Park early on Friday because no one packs the park like Arch Allies! They will take the stage on Friday, June 30th at 7 p.m. for a FREE concert that will rock your world thanks to Joshua Homes and Curries/ASSA ABLOY!

Arch Allies is the ULTIMATE classic rock tribute band, bringing you the very best hits from Journey, Bon Jovi, Queen, REO Speedwagon, Styx, Def Leppard, Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Lita Ford, Ann Wilson, and more! This year you won’t want to miss their Tina Turner tribute!

SATURDAY

Dust off your cowboy hats and get ready to kick up your boots with County Line Drive sponsored by 173 Craft Distillery at Clear Lake’s 4th of July Celebration Saturday, July 1st at 7 p.m.! You don’t even have to be a country music fan to appreciate their high-energy, non-stop fun.

Not only will they play all your favorite country music hits, but they have original music, too!

Since their formation in 2011, County Line Drive has been setting stages ablaze with their dynamic performances and infectious country music sound.  Whether you’re a fan of their tight harmonies, lightning guitar solos, or heart-pounding rhythm section, County Line Drive is guaranteed to deliver the best country music experience each time they hit the stage

SUNDAY

Get ready for Sunday Funday like no other at Clear Lake’s 4th of July Celebration!

At 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 2nd get ready to party as The M80s take the stage, courtesy of Kingland and Renovo Media Group!

The M80s are the Midwest’s hottest 80s cover band.  They cover songs from a generation littered with neon leg warmers, oversized t-shirts, and hairspray.  Lots and lots of hairspray!  You’re guaranteed a high-energy, nonstop blast of 80s hits that will keep you dancing all night long!

And that’s not all, they’ll also feature Loverboy AND Hall and Oats tribute bands, for an evening filled with nostalgia and incredible music!

MONDAY

On July 3, the eve of Independence Day, we have an amazing show from Iowa born and raised Casey Muessigmann, thanks to the generous sponsorship of Harrison Ford-Clear Lake.

Some musicians can sing, and some can play.  Casey can do both!  He’s the ultimate entertainer who lives and breathes country music.  Casey has been making a name for himself across the Midwest, opening for acts like Scott McCreary and Craig Campbell.

He’s the real deal and we cannot wait for him to take the stage at 7pm in City Park!

TUESDAY

For the final day in our live music lineup, Larson’s Mercantile is proud to present the Clear Lake Municipal Band from 8:30 – 10pm.  The municipal band is comprised of music enthusiasts who enjoy playing as an ensemble for their community!  What a great way to celebrate the culmination of our freedom than listening to the sounds of America before enjoying the fireworks spectacular above Clear Lake!

Don’t miss a single minute of any Independence Day fun at the Lake.  You can see the full schedule of events on our website.  The Evans United Carnival kicks off the festivities on Thursday afternoon.  We will have an official ribbon cutting in front of the bandshell to commemorate their 50th anniversary in Clear Lake.  Then, at 5pm, the fun officially begins!

It’s the Midwest’s biggest, most incredible 4th of July celebration… and you’re invited!

See you there!
