Clear Lake Earth Day Nature at Play Photography Show
The public is invited to stop by the Clear Lake Arts Center during their regular business hours during the month of April to enjoy the work of our talented local photographers. This is a juried show with prizes given to 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorary Mention winners. Free admission.

Cards & Creativity
Cards & Creativity meets every Thursday that the library is open at 1:00 p.m. This is a weekly opportunity to meet up with others to play games or engage in your creative outlet of choice. You can work on fiber art, writing, music, drawing, or anything else that inspires you! We’ll provide light refreshments as well as coloring supplies and games for you to use! Free!

Dancing for the Dream
Dancing for the Dream is our signature fund-raising event (a mock Dancing with the Stars). It raises money and awareness focused on building the dreams for north Iowans with disabilities. Dreams that we can all appreciate like belonging, living independently, working, and connecting with friends and family. Proceeds stay in north Iowa to support our mission: Helping people with disabilities find their way through home, employment, and community experiences. Doors open at 6 pm with music by the Sweet Nuthins. Dance contest begins at 7 pm with silent and live auction items.

Growing Pains: A Poetry Reading with Anastatia Carballo
Anastatia Caraballo is a poet, licensed massage therapist, and a mamabear of two curly-haired wildflower children and two furbabies. Born in Burbank, California, life has taken her all over the West Coast and Midwest. She has been writing poetry and short stories since age 8 and loves to learn and experience all that life has to offer, including studying abroad, reading Tarot, making herbal compresses, and being a self-taught bass guitar noob. Through all of lifes adventures, she has digested a plethora of lessons, blessings, and experiences, word vomiting and processing them through the catharsis of writing and therapy. Her work delves into the abyss of mental health, including eating disorders, self-harm, familial strife, grief, purpose, and what it means to be a human.
