I knew it was coming.

I’ve been posting about it on the event page for weeks.

Still, as the final Thursdays on Main of the summer season quickly approaches, it just doesn’t seem possible that it’s over already.  Seriously… is it an age thing?  Does the fact I get older every year mean time moves that much faster?

Because that is seriously depressing.

While I am just as excited as the next stay-at-home or work-from-home mother to have the kids go back to school and form a routine again, I’m also a bit bummed.   And one of the main reasons I’m bummed is because this Thursday will be the final Thursdays on Main of the summer.

Boo.

In an attempt to jam-pack as much fun as possible into summer break, my kids and I hit almost every single Thursdays on Main.  We had a blast creating a summer full of fun times and lasting memories.  You may not realize this, but it’s a pretty epic feat that the Clear Lake Chamber pulls this off so fantastically.  I mean, it’s not like this happens every now and then… but every single week in the summer.

Every.  Single.  Week.

Each Thursday, you get three hours of food vendors, shopping, laser tag, bounce houses and live music.  And the coolest thing around, I’d have to say, is the movie in the park at 9pm.  It’s unbelievable, and a true testament to the vision of our lakeside tourist community.

I love to see our Main Street businesses flourish and thrive from the influx of people uptown.  I mean, have you been to the VFW for their amazing tacos?  It’s definitely worth the time you’ll stand in line! And you better get your butt in a seat early at Rookies or Sevens, because they are packed each week, too.

Of course, it wouldn’t be possible without the amazing support and financial backing from our many sponsors.  Check out the Thursdays on Main Facebook page throughout this week as we give one last shout out to the many businesses that make this event such a success.  https://www.facebook.com/ThursdaysOnMain/ In fact – I encourage you to like them on social media, and maybe even leave a comment to show your appreciation!!

It’s been a great summer, Clear Lake, and I hope to see you all uptown this week for one last hurrah of Thursday fun.
