You’re in for another fun weekend at the Lake!

BY: RACHEL WUMKES

Our bodies are tired.  Our brains scrambled from going ‘round and ‘round on all the carnival rides.  The late nights listening to all the awesome bands in City Park have finally caught up to us.  Inside, our organs are still processing all the fried foods.  Outside, we’ve been kissed by the sun.  Our noses pink and dotted with freckles.

Most of all, when I look in the mirror, I see all the new laugh lines that formed.

Because it was the best, most awesomely amazing seven-day extravaganza ever!

Even whilst doing parade lineup in the pouring rain, drenched to the bone as we zoomed around in golf carts, I give the entire celebration a solid 5 stars.

But that doesn’t mean we get to enjoy a break.  That’s not how we do things here at the Lake.

In fact, tomorrow night is already the return of Thursdays on Main.  This week, you can catch live music on the corner of 4th and Main from Betty & the Gents.  Don’t forget to pack your blanket and chairs to cozy up in City Park to watch Ghostbusters Afterlife (PG-13).

Friday morning you can head on out to Central Gardens for their weekly Fresh on Fridays event.  The Gardens are a beautiful place to enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature.  Surround yourself in the beauty of the outdoors as you select a gorgeous, fresh from the garden, flower bouquet.  You can also enjoy complimentary coffee and refreshments, and sample veggies and herbs picked straight out of the Bee Happy Discovery Garden!

But wait, there’s more!

Saturday packs a punch of activity, kicking off with Yoga by the Lake at 7am.  Then stroll on down to the Surf Ballroom parking lot for a wide selection of homemade goods and produce at the Clear Lake Farmer’s Market.

City Beach will be a buzz with wrestlers throughout the morning for the annual Wrestling Club Beach Brawl.  I mean, if you’re going to grapple in the summer, it might as well be on the beach, right?

Beer enthusiasts can rejoice, as there are approximately 40 breweries coming to town for the annual Brews on the Beach event.  In its 6th year, this event has grown into something epic.  Hosted by our very own Lake Time Brewery right here in Clear Lake, this event brings together a slew of people from far and wide who enjoy the barley & hops.  Tickets are still available but won’t last long.  Make sure to snag yours today to sample all the deliciousness!  https://www.brewsonthebeach.com/tickets

So, you see my friends?  July 4th may have been big and epic and extravagant, but there’s no time for recovery.  It’s time to hike up those party pants and get out to enjoy all Clear Lake has to offer!  For a full list of all the activities and events, check out the community calendar at https://clearlakeiowa.com/events/calendar/

Have all the fun.

Do all the things.

Fill your tank with all the summer-time fun you can.
