What a whirlwind week it’s been!  I feel like a little kid at a ticker-tape parade.  There’s been excitement, glee, and pure giddiness from all the amazing happenings of this week at the Chamber and throughout Clear Lake.

First up – let’s give it up for the INCREDIBLE teachers and staff of Clear Lake Community School District for an amazing start to the year!

Facing the utmost adversity and still being #1 advocates for the education and well-being of our kids makes them superheroes in my book.

Next up, the Chamber staff would like to thank everyone for their incredible support of our All-In fundraising campaign.  We are overwhelmed with the community support. So far, 183 businesses and individuals have donated to help us significantly close the gap on our budget shortfall.

If you’d still like to contribute, it’s not too late to be all-in! Your generosity is much appreciated.  Here is the link to donate:  https://store.clearlakeiowa.com/

Lastly, we officially gave the word that Harvest Festival 2020 is all systems GO!  Well, sort of.  In case you missed it, the fate of the event rests on the shoulders of our attendees this year.  Unlike previous years, with all the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and such, you MUST purchase your bag no later than NOON on September 8th.  If we get to the cut-off and not enough bags have been purchased, we’ll have to cancel the entire event.  At that point, refunds will be issued to everyone who has purchased a bag.

So, let’s do this!!!

For the full rundown to familiarize yourself with all things Harvest Fest for this year, check out THIS BLOG posted earlier in the week.  It’s filled with all the who, what, when, where, why and how information you need to know.

Now… there’s no need to wait.  Get on the horn and get those girlfriends (or guy friends) rounded up.  Get a plan.  Get your bags purchased, and then dig out those party pants because it’s going to be an AWESOME day.

I mean, it’s a slice of normal, that in itself should have you sprinting to get your bag purchased.

And thus, another fabulous week at the Lake is ending.  The weather looks to clear off once the storms pass today.  Thankfully, the heat of the prior week appears to have been sucked up by the wind and rain, leaving us with some nice, cooler temps for a pleasant weekend.

Have a great weekend, Clear Lakers.  And GO LIONS!  We’re excited to host the first home football game of the season at the brand spankin’ new facility tonight.  I drove by yesterday and it looks absolutely incredible.  Makes me PROUD to be a Lion!

See ya at the Lake!
