It’s like the trifecta of a perfect day:  A morning where you meet up with your girl gang and cruise the vendors along the streets of Clear Lake.  The weather is usually cooled off by then, making it feel cozy, all wrapped up in a sweater.  And the most important aspect of the day, the piece de resistance, if you will… wine.

So. Much. Wine.

Have you figured it out yet?  I’m talking about Harvest Festival, ladies!!  The one day each year where it’s totally acceptable to begin drinking mid-morning and be in bed by seven o’clock that evening.  Where you can spend money on jewelry, or something cute and crafty for your house, with no guilt because it’s a girls day!

And guess what?  Tickets go on sale TODAY!!

Which seems fitting, really, because today is also National Girlfriends Day!  And what better way to commemorate this wonderful day in our lives, a day where we celebrate the friendships that keep us sane, keep us holding it together?

I cannot stress the importance of girl time, so it doesn’t surprise me there’s a National “holiday” for such a thing.  Whether you connect with a girlfriend for a few minutes while your kids play at the park, or get all gussied-up for a full night on the town.

You. Need. It. To. Survive.

Period.

There is no other relationship like that of your closest girls.  They’re the ones you go to when you need to vent about life, about whiny children, or even whiny husbands.  They’re the ones who will tell you that you look like a million bucks, even though the saggy bags under your eyes would disagree.  And mostly, they’re the ones you can be totally real with.

Girlfriends are like the sisters you get to pick out yourself.

I’m not sure I would survive without my girl tribe.  We each play a different role in our group dynamic and it works beautifully.  So today, we may celebrate with hours of laughter over margaritas, but we’ll also discuss our plans for Harvest Fest.

We’ll buy tickets and talk about how we’re all ready for “boot and sweater season” and tell stories of past Harvest Fests, reminiscing about all the fun times.

Did you know I played air guitar with a gourd one year?  Yeah… that happened.

So get your girl gang together.  Or heck, even just chat over a group text, and get your tickets ordered!  Like every year, the VIP tickets will sell out in a snap.  So don’t delay.

It’s hard to believe, but the first weekend in October will be here before we know it!

Cheers, girlfriends!
