The Iowa Independent Film Festival will be held in North Iowa September 5-7th. Created in 2007, the festival was formed to enrich the communities in our area through the promotion and appreciation of the arts within the realm of independent filmmaking.
Films are shown at the historic Lake Theatre in Clear Lake, the Mason City Community Theatre in Mason City, and the Mason City Public Library.
According to their website, the IIFF’s goal as a premiere independent film festival in Iowa is to offer our region opportunities to experience the best in independent filmmaking. With movies spanning the genres of short films, documentaries and features, they look to provide quality entertainment for a wide range of tastes.
This year, the festival had 174 submissions from around the world, of which they chose the best 50 for your enjoyment.
