It might be frigidly cold outside, but things are really heating up around Clear Lake.

Holiday shopping has kicked off in a BIG way around town, with many stores offering Open Houses and Holiday previews for their customers to enjoy. I know we tout about “shop local” a lot this time of the year, but we really have an amazing selection of retail options in our cute little town.

Seriously. I mean, just take my money, because I’m going to buy ALL THE THINGS!

This week, our Chamber CEO and President, Stacy, and I (Rachel) embarked on an epic journey to show the world… well, the Facebook world… all the good things we’ve got going on to check those boxes off your Christmas shopping list.

In case you missed our elfish shenanigans on Thursday afternoon, you MUST go take a peek at our Facebook Page where we highlighted local retail stores Brin & Lew, Wilcox Furniture, Simply Nourished, Katie Casey Designs, Unique Boutique, White Barn Picket Fence, Chris’ Kettle Corn, and Nash & Ivy.

And then today, we barged right on in to Grace & Strength Boutique, Holistic Harmony, The Funky Zebras, Clear Lake Bait & Tackle, Kramer Ace Hardware, Eva Marie’s, Larson’s Mercantile and Ralphene’s.

And if you’re thinking maybe there’s a chance you just might be on the naughty list this year, well then go on over to these stores and buy yourself a gift.

There’s always next year to work on that whole “nice” concept, right?

So stayed tuned because these happy little elves will be popping in and out of stores all around town for a bit, showing y’all the awesome items available for purchase in our local stores. And seriously, if you’ve never been on a little shopping spree in Clear Lake, you NEED to get on that.

There is literally something for everyone in these stores.

That hard to buy for person? Done.

Your in-law who has everything? Done.

Picky children? Done.

Looking for a unique teacher gift? Done.

Take the stress out of your shopping this year and just knock it all out in one super-fun shopping trip in Clear Lake!

In other exciting news around the Chamber, we celebrated Trish Fundermann’s 26th year as the events director.  Trish wasn’t born like normal people, she was created from the likeness of the Energizer Bunny and just keeps going, and going, and going, and going.

I’m not really sure if she ever eats or sleeps, because she’s just a busy little bee running all over town to make sure we have THE BEST events in North Iowa.

And you know what? She’s pretty darn good at that job.  The Clear Lake signature events are what they are because Trish has had her hand in them.

So Congrats, Trish!

Alas, the time has come for me to bid you adieu for another week. Enjoy your weekend at the Lake, my friends!
