Shipshewana, IN – June 16, 2024 – We are thrilled to announce that Clear Lake has won the Midwest Travel Network award for Best Social Media Campaign (Destination) for our innovative and engaging Lake Madness campaign.

Lake Madness, which ran from March 4th to March 27th, 2024, captured the community’s imagination with a bracket-style competition similar to March Madness. This campaign was designed to promote Clear Lake’s attractions and festivals through two main components: Festival Face Off and Water Wars. By pitting popular local events and attractions against each other, we created a fun and interactive way to raise awareness and engage with both residents and visitors.

Key highlights of the campaign included the showdown between our beloved July 4th Fireworks and Christmas by the Lake fireworks, as well as a friendly competition between the new Everybody Plays splash pad and the existing City Beach splash pad. Our thoughtful selection of matchups ensured that the campaign fostered positive community spirit and excitement.

The results were outstanding. Lake Madness achieved: 37.4K Impressions, 37.9K Reach, and 966 Reactions and Comments

The success of this campaign can be largely attributed to the creativity and hard work of our new team member, Marketing & Communications Specialist Maddie Anderly. Maddie coordinated the entire campaign, from finalizing the brackets to creating the vibrant graphics that captured everyone’s attention.

Clear Lake previously won Destination Partner of the Year from the Midwest Travel Network in 2019.
