Cards & Creativity meets every Thursday that the library is open at 1:00 p.m. This is a weekly opportunity to meet up with others to play games or engage in your creative outlet of choice. You can work on fiber art, writing, music, drawing, or anything else that inspires you! We’ll provide light refreshments as well as coloring supplies and games for you to use!

TRI Clear Lake Youth Splash & Dash
The TRI Clear Lake Youth Splash & Dash is a fun event that combines swimming and running for kids ages 7-15 with an emphasis on creating a fun family weekend of multisport and fitness. Spectators are encouraged to cheer on their kids as they move through the course and finish under the same arch as the TRI Clear Lake competitors. The race begins at 6:30pm, with the Athletes will be staged by age with the senior division (ages 11-15) going off first, followed by the junior division (ages 7-10). All athletes will receive a finisher medal and TRI Clear Lake visor at the finish line, along with refreshments.

Micky Dolenz
Micky Dolenz is an actor, singer, director, producer, writer, radio DJ, inventor, and all-around performer extraordinaire, and stands tall as a paragon of taste and accomplishment in the rough-and-tumble world of show business and entertainment. Micky is best known as a vocalist and drummer of the 1960’s pop legends The Monkees. The Monkees not only achieved great success as a TV show, but also as recording artists; selling in excess of 65 million units, and achieving worldwide success. Their first four albums – THE MONKEES (1966); MORE OF THE MONKEES (1967); HEADQUARTERS (1967); and PISCES, AQUARIUS, CAPRICORN AND JONES, LTD. (1967) all reached the number-one position on the charts and launched three number-one singles: “Last Train to Clarksville,” “I’m a Believer” (both with lead vocals by Micky), and “Daydream Believer.” The group’s first five albums also went platinum. Micky has also released several critically acclaimed solo albums: KING FOR A DAY; REMEMBER; and A LITTLE BIT BROADWAY; A LITTLE BIT ROCK AND ROLL. The Monkees also re-grouped for a 50th anniversary album in 2016 entitled GOOD TIMES on Rhino.

TRI Clear Lake
The Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 8th Annual TRI Clear Lake Triathlon sanctioned by USA Triathlon on May 25th, 2024. The scenic course will begin at City Beach for the swim and the bike course guides athletes out and back along South Shore Drive through the prairie and windmills south of Clear Lake. The race is capped off with a run on North Shore drive, passing by the Lady of the Lake and historic Surf Ballroom with a lakeside finish in City Park downtown Clear Lake. At the completion of the race, you will experience a high-energy lakefront finish line party, complete with music, food and beverages!

Join us from 6pm to 9pm for an evening filled with fun, music, and a vibrant atmosphere that will make your summer Thursdays unforgettable. We have an incredible lineup of activities and entertainment planned just for you and your family!
