Family fun for everyone!

BY: RACHEL WUMKES

Families from far and wide will flock to City Park on Saturday for the first ever Bash at the Lake.  Hosted by the nonprofit organization, United to Serve, this all-day celebration will feature bounce houses, a human foosball tournament, food trucks, a dunk tank, fun activities for kids, and an incredible lineup of Christian music.

And the best part?  It’s all FREE to the public!

Here is a rundown of what you can expect on Saturday.
FOOD:

The Chick-Fil-A Tri State Food Truck will be on site, serving up their amazing chicken sandwiches, nuggets, and wraps!  But that’s not all.  There will be a handful of other vendors on site.  From sizzling BBQ fare to delicious tacos to sweet treats, there will surely be something for everyone.  Even popcorn!

In addition to the food truck option, many of our local restaurants will be open and ready to serve all your smiling faces.  You can check out our dining guide to Clear Lake here.

3:00 p.m. – GO FISH

“Great music for kids – that won’t drive their parents bonkers!”

These two guys are one of the most unique groups in the Christian music industry.  They have an incredible way to reaching kids and teaching them about God – music!  Their songs are high-energy, jump-up-and-down fun from start to finish.

To check them out before the big show, take a peek at their YouTube Channel.

5:00 p.m. – AWAKEN THE DUST

This local group made their debut at the Surf Ballroom this spring as the openers for Cain.  Comprised of five musicians, these North Iowa residents just want to share their love of Jesus through music!

This “hometown crew” is excited to take the stage for the first Bash at the Lake.  And trust me, you won’t want to miss their set.  Awaken the Dust performs top-notch Christian music guaranteed to stir something in your soul.

6:30 p.m. – REND COLLECTIVE

Arguably one of the biggest names in Christian music – and they’re coming to CLEAR LAKE!  Rend Collective is a Northern Irish Christian folk rock worship band originating from Bangor, Northern Ireland.  They have an eclectic style, utilizing a unique mashup of rock and folk to create worship songs for all ages.

It’s the perfect end to the perfect day at the Lake.  Spend it listening to this amazing group of individuals share their love for God.

The buzz around town is palpable as people are SO excited for this event on Saturday.  As you can imagine, we are anticipating a large crowd for the duration of the entire day.  Plan accordingly for parking and expect delays as traffic will be heavy coming in and out of town.

All in all, it’s going to be one epic day at the Lake.  One you won’t want to miss!
