About Youth and Shelter Services of North Iowa
YSS is one of Iowa’s oldest and largest youth-serving nonprofit organizations. Their mission is to create hope and opportunity by putting kids first. They offer education, counseling, and stability to help young people build healthy minds and bodies, overcome challenges, and focus on their future.
Based in Mason City, YSS of North Iowa is the northernmost YSS location, bringing essential services to families in this part of the state. Previously known as YSS Francis Lauer, this center provides counseling, crisis stabilization, emergency shelter, and aftercare for foster care alumni. YSS of North Iowa tailors its services to fit the specific needs of the families in our community.

“An Evening with Francis” features a night of Dueling Pianos by Pianopalooza. The event includes heavy appetizers, live and silent auctions, a cash bar, games, and more. All proceeds benefit YSS of North Iowa.

Pianopalooza, featuring Tony Bohnenkamp and Jared Hall, has been entertaining audiences since 2001. Known for their energetic performances and a wide range of cover songs, they play everything from piano bars and festivals to private parties and corporate events.
