Calling all children, ages 3 to 5, who reside in Clear Lake and Ventura. The royal throne, a coveted position for the youngsters in our area is, once again, up for grabs. As part of the Christmas by the Lake celebration, the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is now accepting applications for the Prince and Princess contest.

But I fear that time is of the essence. One mustn’t dawdle on such important acts.

All applications, along with a $10.00 sponsorship fee, which may be paid by an individual or a business, must be submitted by November 12th to be considered for this grand honor. A photo of the child must be included with said application.

Dress in your spiffiest attire, gents. And don the most elegant of gowns, gals. Each photo will be published in the esteemed Mirror Reporter in their November 24th edition.

The contest will be held on Saturday, December 4th from 10:15 – 11:15AM in the clear Lake Bank & Trust Community Room. Participants and their families are invited to enjoy a breakfast reception, social time so the future royals can get to know one another better, a private audience with Santa Clause himself, and even craft activities for the children.

It will be at this time, in the most grand and majestic way, that your new royalty will be chosen via drawing.

To fill out an application for this highest of high honors, grown-ups may stop into the Clear Lake Area Chamber of Commerce office, or print the page from this link or at Clear Lake Bank & Trust.

Each of the applicants, along with the newly chosen royalty, are invited to participate in the lighted parade down Main Avenue as part of the Christmas by the Lake celebration. Upon completion, there will be fireworks over the lake.

If one should have inquiries into the logistics or if they’re unsure on a course of action for such a feat, they are advised to telephone Kristy Priebe at 355-2269. She is of the utmost knowledge in regard to all royal affairs.
