What could be better than a tasty italian feast? Pair it with a cruise aboard the Lady of the Lake!
That’s what our Chamber First Mates have done for this year’s Taste of Clear Lake on Wednesday, August 13th. The goal of the event (other than having a relaxing evening out with friends), is to highlight our local eateries in a fun, collaborative way.
The feast:
Cover your choice of 2 varieties of pasta (Best Western/Bennigan’s) with creamy, cheesy Alfredo or a chunky Marinara bursting with tomatoes and fresh herbs (The Other Place). Then decide between delicate, seasoned meatballs (District 619 Steakhouse), juicy grilled chicken (Whiskey Creek Wood Fire Grill), or sauteed shrimp (Wal-Mart). If you want to round out your meal, or go vegetarian, add the vegetable blend (Fareway). Warm buttery breadsticks (Breadeaux Pizza) and a crisp garden salad (Martin Brothers) round out the meal.
The First Mates will start serving dinner, buffet style, in a tent at the Seawall starting at 5:30pm. Passengers will load up their plate, then load onto the Lady of the Lake paddlewheel. On board you will find a gourmet dessert selection (Cookies, etc., Starboard Market, & The Flour Shoppe), plus wine samples (j avenue).
Kick back and enjoy the 90-minute guided cruise around Clear Lake by the Lady of the Lake captain. During the cruise, the First Mates will have some prize drawings. All passengers will receive a swag bag full of neat items from Chamber member businesses.
