March 1: Harmonious Wail @ EB Stillman Auditorium, 7pm.  With smoldering vocals laced among the jazzy mandolin and guitar, and an infectious blend of continental jazz, swing, gypsy music and melodic vocals, Harmonious Wail has caught numerous listeners by total surprise during its more than 20-year history.

March 7: Evening Lions Pancake & Omelet Breakfast @ Methodist Church, 7am-1pm. This annual fundraising brunch for the Clear Lake Evening Lions Club features delicious fluffy pancakes and custom made omelets with your favorite fillings!

March 7: Robert Cray @ Surf Ballroom, 8pm. The five-time Grammy Award winning blues guitarist and singer brings his In My Soul tour to Clear Lake, with special guest Lisa Wenger.

March 15: Irish Stew @ St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 11am-2pm. Enjoy an all you can eat Irish Stew dinner served with a huge assortment of homemade pie.

March 17: Kids & Canvas @ Clear Lake Arts Center, 10am. An arty party just for you and your favorite young person! This step-by-step class walks you and your youngster through the process of painting on canvas. In the end, you both will have a painted canvas to hang on the wall.  BONUS! Be sure to check out the Student Art Exhibit going on March 3-28 in the Hanson Gallery, featuring the work of students from Clear Lake, Forest City, Garner, Ventura and West Hancock.

March 20: Gaelic Storm @ Surf Ballroom, 8pm.  Gaelic Storm infuses traditional Celtic music with modern influences, updating the genre for a new generation of fans raised on rock, country and folk.

March 21: Man Cave Crawl @ 3pm. Meet up at the Mason City Airport and board a bus to tour some really fabulous “Man Caves!”  The tour concludes at Holt’s Hangar (the ultimate man cave!) for dinner, laughs, auction, & music. Fundraiser for Francis Lauer Youth Services.

March 21: Dancing for Downs @ Surf Ballroom, 5pm. The night includes dancing, a silent auction, pizza, snacks, a cash bar and fun for the whole family. All proceeds from this event go to support DSA of NCI’s local efforts to provide information, resources, advocacy and support to individuals with Down syndrome, their families and their communities.

March 21: St. Paddy’s Comedy Show @ Bennigan’s/Best Western Diamond Ballroom, 8pm. Johnny Beehner (appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing) and Dan Deibert (Jay Leno Comedy Challenge runner-up) will put on a hilarious show. Bonus! Bennigan’s has Levy the Great doing table-side magic every Monday in March from 5:30-7:30pm (and it’s kids eat free night).  Corned Beef & Cabbage will be served the week of St. Patty’s Day (while supplies last).

March 28: Dancing for the Dream @ Surf Ballroom, 6pm.  Watch local celebrities dance for a great cause benefitting NIVC Services.  The night includes live and silent auction, hors d’oeuvres, & a dance.
