As I sit down to write this week’s Feel Good Friday blog post, I can’t help feeling encouraged by the signs of life all around me.  Living on Fieldstone Pond, the baby geese have arrived for the spring, following closely behind their parents as they explore this great big world.  They are little fluff balls of yellow cuteness and I just want to put one in my pocket.

I won’t, of course, but still.

They are just so darn cute!

It got me thinking of all the other signs of life I’ve seen recently.  Maybe not new birth, but signs nevertheless the world we once knew is slowly coming back to fruition.  One step at a time.  One activity at a time.  Things are on the horizon in Clear Lake.  Big things.

LIFE.

If you received the weekly events email yesterday, you will notice a slew of activities planned.  **NOTE: if you didn’t, send an email to rachel@clearlakeiowa.com and I’ll get to added to the list** Live music, garage sales, fishing tournaments, opening day of Farmer’s Market, pancake breakfast at the airport and a super-fun event out at TimberCrest, just to name a few.

Events are forging ahead in full gear for the summer season, and it could not make me happier.  Before we know it, we will kick off the summer season with the first Thursdays on Main since 2019!

LIFE.

So, I’m totally one of those old school organizational people who uses a physical planner.  And, because I have a giant family, it’s not the kind I can throw in my purse and take with me.  Want to pencil in a fun little lunch at the Landing or drinks at PM Park?  Hold on, let me get out my FULL-SIZE notebook planner to put you on my schedule.

I’m ridiculous.

While my husband is fully on board with the digital calendars and planning, I just can’t bring myself to do it.  There’s nothing I enjoy more than filling the little boxes with my kids’ activities.  Plans for softball, baseball, going to the pool, golfing, and an ample amount of beach time are on the schedule for this summer.

See?  LIFE.

One by one, patio dining is beginning to open for the season.  We’ve surely missed being able to sit in the warm, open air and enjoy a juicy burger and a cold beer in the great outdoors.  Be on the lookout for upcoming blog posts as I begin writing a complete series of lists for all things Clear Lake.

It’s like a dream for this full-speed-ahead mother of five.  Of course, only I would be excited to write blog posts about lists.  We live by the list in this house.  Lists on lists on lists!  It’s how we ensure we soak up every little ounce of joy from living at the Lake.

We fill our tanks with all the goodness, all the fun, all the sunshine and warmth and long days we can.  We soak it in, letting the happiness seep deep into our pores knowing we get to spend our whole summer in paradise, doing all the fun things this awesome town has to offer.

Because… LIFE!

Go live it, and have a great weekend at the Lake, my friends.
