Livin’ for the Weekend

Raise your hand if you feel this has been the longest week of all time?  Yup!  I agree, and it’s only Tuesday, people.

Normally I love the weekdays.  I know, it doesn’t sound right when it hits my ears either.  But you see, I’ve got a pretty sweet gig, working from home in the wonderful peace and quiet that is my house during the day.  Before my tribe of craziness returns from school and work, I’ve got six hours of pure bliss to sit in my new office and write.

That’s a lie – most days I just stare at my computer.  Writer’s block is a terrible thing!

But anyway, I think the reason my creative juices are not flowing this week is because I’m just too excited.  I’m too excited to think.  Too excited to be creative, and I’m definitely too excited to write about anything other than the fact that HARVEST FESTIVAL IS ON SATURDAY!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, I totally just used an excessive amount of exclamation points.

If you haven’t already purchased your ticket, there’s still time.  All you have to do is click HERE.  It’s super easy!  Goody bags will be ready to pick up at the Chamber Office at 205 Main Street on Thursday and Friday from 8am – 5pm.  If you can’t get there on those days, you can stop at the Lakeview Room (it’s the room under/behind the Bandshell) on Saturday morning starting at 8am.

Now, I’m not sure what to expect out of that mean old bird, Mother Nature.  She’s been kind to us in some years and not so kind in others.  But regardless of rain or shine or warm or cold – Harvest Fest is ON.  Last year we wore our rain boots and carried umbrellas and you know what?

We had a BLAST.  Yeah, it was cold.  Yeah, it was wet.  But it was still a great time.

And this year will be no different.   As always, the vendors will be set up on and along Main Street.  Bands are placed strategically around the downtown area for your listening pleasure.  And be sure to check your goody bag for a list of all the wine stations.  These wineries work tirelessly all year long to create some delicious concoctions just for events like this – and I can’t wait to try them all.

But first… we must make it through the week.  We must prepare our wallets for the upcoming excessive shopping.  And we must prepare our livers for wine, wine and more wine.

Only four more sleeps and it’ll be Saturday!!
