Pretty much any woman in the entire universe would agree with me – Girl’s Night Out is the Best.  Thing.  Ever.

Typically described as a gender-exclusive activity where women meet and engage in social activities, the girl’s night out is a lifesaver for many women.  It’s the chance to dress up, have a few fancy cocktails, and chat with the girls about anything under the sun.

While it’s been around for years, the popularity of the Girl’s Night Out was elevated to a significantly higher status in the late 90s and early 2000’s with the popular HBO television show, Sex and the City.  The show became a pop-fiction phenomenon for women around the world.

The icing on the cake regarding a night on the town with the ladies?  There are health benefits.  Actual, non-made-up health benefits.

Not only does a girl’s night improve your mood, but it’s known to reduce one’s stress levels by elevating the amount of oxytocin in your body.  Thus, producing feelings of bliss.  And since your stress levels become lower during girl-time, it’s said those close friendships between women literally decrease a woman’s risk of death.

So there you go.  If you want to live longer – you must have Girl’s Night Out.

It was on the internet, so it must be true.

I also learned that regular activities as such, with your lady friends, is good for your marriage.  Apparently, listening to other women complain about their husbands and children can give you a newfound appreciation for you own.

Who would have thought?

The most intriguing bit of information in my research, was an entire section from an article in the New York Times about how the Bible agrees.

Wait, what?

Yup. In Proverbs 27:9 it states – “… a sweet friendship refreshes the soul.”

See?  Even Jesus wants you to have a Girls Night Out.

And what better way than to slip into a little black dress and head out to the Surf District on May 30th!

That’s right, folks.  The committee for the Everybody Plays Inclusive Playground will be hosting a Little Black Dress night!  The event, which runs from 6-11pm, will include a sexy shoe contest, celebrity bartenders, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle.

Trust me, it’s not a night you want to miss out on!  A few items on the silent auction include: Surf Tickets, Clear Lake Boats Rental, Spa Services, Car Detail, Haircut and other hair products.

Plus a new event this year.  Participants can pop a balloon for $25 to win a bottle of wine or other type of liquor.  Sounds like a win/win to me!

Plus… Betty & the Gents will be performing!!  Yay!

What better way to enjoy a night out, and rock that killer little black dress hanging in the back of your closet, than at the Surf District.  Admission is only $5 at the door for an entire night of food, drinks, live music and fun.

All for an incredible cause!  The All Inclusive Playground will be a wonderful asset to the City of Clear Lake.  The committee is currently at 40% of their fundraising goal, thanks to the City for their generous donation of the land out by the soccer fields.

Call up the girls – or guys (they can come too) - and plan for one heck of a Girl’s Night Out on Thursday, May 30th!
