Tim is originally from Omaha, Nebraska and is a graduate of Creighton University.  He has spent most of his working career mostly with not-for-profit organizations, primarily in the field of fundraising.  He directed the Washington, Iowa Chamber before moving to lead the Clear Lake Area Chamber. He is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's Institute for Organization Management.

He is active in Rotary as President of the Clear Lake Rotary Club and is an instructor of the NIACC Lifelong Learning Center, where he is teaching a course of the Beatles. He and his wife Pam have five grown children and eight grandchildren, as well as two dogs.
