It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here in Clear Lake, Iowa! The greenery and lights are wrapped tightly around the light poles downtown, ready for wintry weather and festive celebrations! The sounds of Christmas music fill the streets with joy.

The season kicks of with a special holiday preview night at many of our Clear Lake retailers on November 5.  The Home for the Holidays retail promotion will run from November 16-December 16th, where weekly winners will receive $100 in Clear Lake Chamber Bucks and one grand prize winner will win $1000.

 

 

Santa and Mrs. Claus will take up residence in City Park from 1-4pm on weekends from November 28-December 20, with extended hours during Christmas by the Lake December 5 from 1-4pm and 6-7pm.

Opportunity Village’s Festival of Trees promises to be full of amazing sights and sounds again this year. It kicks off on Friday December 4 with an opening night reception and continues through Sunday December 6.

Christmas by the Lake festival will take place on December 5, which will fill the downtown with strolling Dickens carolers, a petting zoo, s’mores, Christmas karaoke, fireworks, and a lighted parade. Elsa, the princess from Disney’s Frozen, will even have a photo opportunity this year from 1:30-4pm in the Lakeview Room!

The Surf Ballroom presents a special holiday concert: Sara Evans at Christmas on Saturday, December 5. Her new Christmas album, “At Christmas” releases on November 17.

Clear Lake Regular Baptist Church invites everyone to enjoy looking at over 100 Nativities on display while eating Christmas cookies and sipping on a cup of hot apple cider at their location (314 N 6th St), just 6 blocks from City Park.

Hundreds of brave souls bear the cold water for charity during the 18th Annual Polar Bear Club dip on Sunday December 6 starting at 12:30.
